Ang Buhay Daw Ay Isang Laro

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

“Consequences” at “rewards” ika nga.

“Generation repeats generation”, ano nga bang kahulugan nito?

Maraming nagtatanong, Bakit may mayayaman? Bakait may mahihirap? Bakit may masasama? Bakit may api? Etc…

Bida Ka, Pinoy Abroad!

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Tsk…tsk…tsk… Ano na tayo Bayan?!

Wag malungkot!

Why Volunteer?

Friday, May 28th, 2010
Simple lang naman ang sagot ko “this is my way of life”.

The Beneficial Effects of Volunteerism

1.) Volunteerism defocuses self-centeredness. It tones down personal problems and worries as the work ahead focuses on helping others.

2.) Seeing others grateful and happy for the services we do is exhilirating to the soul.

3.) Volunteerism makes us feel more useful in life when we see others feel the benefits of our works.

4.) Volunteerism is sharing. It is an extension of our christian learning when we share with others our resources such as time, effort, money, talents, and skills.

5.) It helps us see the meaning of life when we serve others. “Service to humanity is service to God” which is imprinted in the logo of Kabalikat Civicom.

6.) It allows us to see our good sides when we see ourselves doing for the good of others. It is a deep expression of the soul, and refreshment of the spirit of man.

7.) Volunteerism benefits everybody around us, especially the community where service is rendered.

8.) It attracts others and help them realize their good potentials when they see volunteers in action. It is good to know that there are people around who truly cares.

9.) Service done for the upliftment of others is an act of God done through us. Happy is the community where volunteers abode.

10.) The good things we do will always come back to us.

It’s because Volunterism is Healthy!

MABUHAY PO TAYONG LAHAT AND GOD BLESS!

Para Sa mga tomador at May Mga Galas

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Tagay!

Philippine 2010 Election - Pagboto, Karapatan at Obligasyon!

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010
” Sa darating pong eleksyon huwag nyo pong kalilimutang iboto…………!”

” Nangangako po akong………..!”

” Ang inyo pong lingkod ay………!”

” Vote straight……….!

Welcome “AUTOMATED ELECTION”!

My Blogging Principles and Recommendations

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Nowadays, people are now aware of computer technology wherein everything could be done in a simple way……. Including blogging.Wink

Before anything else i’d like to introduce to you especially for those beginners what blogging is. Based from WIKIPEDIA 2008 A blog (a contraction of the term “Web log“) is a Website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog etc..etc... (para 1)

Like many of bloggers, I was also impressed by the enthusiasm the bloggers had for blogging in their life! I just loved reading from them how they could learn from each other and develop and share their own thoughts and opinions through writing, reading, reflecting, and responding via the blog. After blogging with others this past year, I found that i was also enthusiastic to connect with them , but sustaining the conversation is something that takes thought; the interaction needs to be varied. Therefore, I liked reading about the different ways they used the blog: Telling about waking-up in the morning, How do they look, live blogging and etc… Till I found out, I am now also do blogging.

For almost four years of my Blogging Hobby  I have so many things  that i learned  and finally got my principle of blogging. For me to be able to express my feelings and thoughts i always do blogging. I always put to my mind that in order for me to be responsible for what i am going to write  everything must be done to ensure that what would writing be presented is true and fair. An Idea to publish something just to express once feeling is not enough when that feeling is a feeling of guilt or evil.

Since Blogging is not enforceable, everyblogger believes that whatever we write is always correct depending on our beliefs. However, don’t we know that every decisions in life that we are going to make like writing has always a rewards or consequences? Rewards? at blogging, we can earn a rewards when somebody believed that what we have written is true-some kind of an appreciation for us to be inspired. Consequences? Words, once they are blogged, have a life of their own. This means that if we will write somethings wrong and unfair for someone or something or for some issues this will be connected to our personality as a blogger and our credibility will suddenly be lost or lessen.

For my recommendations, In order  for us to earn trust and respect  from our readers and be known as credible for everything that we are publishing , at least have our own set of ethics by means of writing in a responsible way. Letting the reader feel relaxed and confident with what they are reading is one of the Blogger’s Principle  that we have to pursue.

Be Present, Show up. Post as always as you could. Develop a posting schedule, whether it’s daily or weekly. Develop a blogging schedule and stick to it. Be True Don’t just cut and paste your articles or ideas to your blog. Add your own thoughts. Answer comments honestly. If a comment requires a more than a few sentences to respond to, then create a post about it instead-That is being a responsive Blogger. This is part of the reason that you have a blog. Obcourse honesty is important. If you do, then I guarantee that you will be discovered. The results will be worse than if you never started blogging. Patience is also required. It takes times to build relationships through blogging. You wouldn’t expect a friendship to develop overnight – neither will a reader relationship. The relevance is also included. It’s great to add-in some pictures to help the readers get to know, but make sure that you also include images that they care about.

Generally, Principles of Blogging is not about the law on blogging or ethics of Journalism rather it is how we are going to be credible with Blogging in a way that we are not just entertaining the reader, giving informations, persuading for advertisements, telling a story, etc… but also delivering our thoughts, feelings and ideas about a certain issue.

Grave Abused of Authority

Friday, May 7th, 2010
There is this fish vendor 49 years old woman ( Lets call her  “Dina” *not the real name*) who had experienced a Grave Abuse of Authority from an incumbent Barangay Kagawad:

Friendship bar

The Antecedent Facts are as follows:

Dina is been a fish vendor for almost seven years (7) at one City in Nothern luzon here in the Philippines. Moreover she is also a member of the Fish Vendors Association. The member of which have a long standing agreement that each one of the will only maintain one (1) to two (2) “Bilao” in the sale of fish. This Barangay Kagawad is likewise a vendor at the same place where Dina is situated. She is also a member of the fish vendor association and an officer therein being a treasurer of the said association.

For quite sometime, the said Barangay Kagawad has been harrasing and intimidating Dina at her place of work but she tried her best to disregard the same because she want to maintain friendly relations among the other vendors in the market. Moreover, Dina would also like to show respect due to This Barangay Kagawad’s position.

However, Barangay Kagawad’s abuse of authority reached it’s peak due to an unfortunate incident that happened. Dina was so busy but peacefully selling fresh fish during the rush hour in the afternoon when this Barangay Kagawad suddenly came and told her “Bakit Dyan Ka Nakapwesto? Hindi Pwede Yan!” A few minutes after , Barangay Kagawad commanded her helper to remove Dina from her current position and install their “bilao” of Fish. The helper came to her and was forcing her to get out. He did it even if he saw Dina already was being hurted. Thus, against her will, the helper, at the instruction of This Barangay Kagawad put their “Bilao” of fish in the her current position until the fish that they were selling fell on the ground. The helper of Barangay Kagawad got angry, took the fish that Dina was selling, and trew all of it on the street grounds. Hence, Dina raised her voice, “Bakit Pinag-iinitan nyo ako, Ano kasalanan ko? Saan nyo ako ilalagay?” The helper in return shouted at Dina “Putang-Ina Mo!” Dina was shocked and in reflex, she told him also the same word. Then the son of this Barangay Kagawad came, approached Dina….. and Beat! Once, at the forehead…. The Mother did’nt respond…. Twice, at the neck…. The treasurer of fish vendor association did’nt respond again…. and for the last beat, at the head and forcibly pulled Dina… The Barangay Kagawad did’nt respond. In other words the son of Barangay Kagawad Beat Dina trice. After that, Male bystander tried to pacify the son of Barangay Kagawad. He was about to attack Dina again but he was stopped by the bystanders.

During the whole incident, This Barangay Kagawad was present and she was the one who commanded her helper and son to assault Dina. Moreover, she did not do anything to prevent her male helper and son and allowed them to maul Dina contrary to her obligation and duty as a Mother, as an officer of association and most of all a Barangay Kagawad to maintain peace and order in the community.

After that, Dina went to the police station to report the incident. She was forced to leave the fish that she was selling because of the injuries that she sustained.  There, She executed a sworn statement and attached the Medico-Legal Certificate showing the wounds that she sustained during the incident.

Subsequently, after four (4) days that Dina got mauled by those people, to her surprised, she received summons from the office of the Lupong Tagapamayapa of the Barangay Council. Based on the Barangay Case: For disrespect to person in authority as filed by the Guilty Barangay Kagawad. Dina was asked to appear before the them on a specific date.

The Barangay Kagawad who figured prominently in the said incident and even never prevented her son and companions from assaulting Dina, clearly made use of her position as a Barangay official to harass Dina by filling a baseless claim against her. To make matters worse, she even filed it before the Barangay where she is a public official. The implication of this is that the Barangay Chairman and Barangay Council where the barangay kagawad filled the Barangay case will be expected to be partial to her cause considering that she is an official of that place.

What happened to the principle of fairness and justice?

Dina filed the case to the City prosecutor but the City Procecutor forwarded the case to the Barangay. The case in the Barangay was (she think) very much improper because when the hearings were done, there were only Brgy. Captain, The accused Kagawad and company, Dina and the secretary. When Dina’s companion came to witness for the hearing, the Brgy. Captain forced him to leave and told him that she might record their conversations.

Aside from that, the Kagawad gave her a treat to be removed from fish vendor association and to the market with the help of Brgy.Chairman by means of a petition. That was also the reason why they don’t accept the daily dues that Dina is paying.

She went to the DILG (Regional) and asked for a help. They gave Dina advices… They told her to go to DILG (City). Dina went to DILG (City)… They told her to go to City Council…..She went to that place….. They forwarded her to the Sangguniang Panlungsod….. They were supposed to tell Dina that she have to go to Liga ng Mga Barangay then she said Liga Ng Mga Barangay told her to go to their office first. Sangguniang Panlungsod told her to prepare for the verified affidavit of complaint and have a copy of 16 copies….. Dina were very disappointed that time especially when she went to one of the City Councilor wherein this official is the one who holds for the women protection and urban poor sadly this City Councilor were also the one who took the case to depend of the guilty Barangay Kagawad and her guilty son who mauled Dina. Where will Dina get some help from the Government? How Sad….

For the reasons that the Barangay Council were not capable for their positions, They gave Dina the Certificate to File Action improperly. She gave that Certificate to the Piscal’s Office then the Piscal told her that those papers were supposed to give back by the Barangay. The Brgy. really didn’t want to give that back. She Did those things for 3 times until she decided to get all of the papers and presented to the main window for filed cases in the Hall of Justice then they admitted.

Many days had passed… A letter from the City procecutor delivered to her rented house. A case of Treat and Unjust Vexation from Kagawad against Dina. She Went to the Hall of justice and she found out that the hearing of the case against Dina is sooner than the case she filed against the Kagawad. When she got the information regarding the case she had submitted she also found out that it was already submitted but not yet proccesed……………….

Where is justice? Dina is a less fortunate person.

Friendship bar

In this situation, I am pretty sure that Dina is not only the one who are experiencing  this kind of situation. Isn’t it Obviously a crime when a man hit a woman especially it is older than him? How about a Mother that let her son to do something bad to others? A Brgy Official to neglect the responsibility to maintain the peace and order? A Brgy Official who are included in the crime? An official of the Association who do not care about her member? And a person who always wanted to destroy others?

Moreover, Based from what I have learned from DILG, If the complaint is against an elective barangay official criminal aspect may be heard with the regular courts. With the the summon issued by the Lupong Tagapamayapa it was also appears to be improper since the complainant is a public official and the subject of her is Disrespect for authority, clearly not within the authority of the Lupong Tagapamayapa to settle or adjucate.

Evidently, The accused Barangay Kagawad gravely abused her authority in order to harass Dina with the filling of baseless claim. As an author of this article I am Expecting that the Barangay Kagawad should be subjected to a disciplinary action by the Sanguniang Panlungsod for Grave Abused of Authority.

Everybody wants to live… Everybody wants to earn money for their family…. Everybody wants to live fairly…

Every Filipino belongs to this country…

* Dina wants to thank Public Attorneys Office for assisting to her administrative complaint against this Barangay Kagawad

Happy Graduation to all the Graduates of Batch 2009!

Good Day!

I am both honored and flattered to have been asked to speak for this wonderful occasion.

I congratulate each of you and your parents.

Your achievements in the realms of Scholarship, Leadership, Community Service, and Character are being honored here tonight by your induction into this prestigious society.

An honor such as this is a wonderful way for the school and community to recognize and celebrate the choices, and sometimes the sacrifices, you have made.

But I believe that what should make you and your parents the most proud is not the actual honor itself, but what you had to do to get it. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.” Any recognition is just the icing on the cake, not to be expected but definitely to be enjoyed.

However, I challenge you not to rest on your laurels but to continue to strive towards even loftier goals.
The four requirements for membership in which you have excelled: scholarship, leadership, community service, and character were not chosen at random.

They are the core of a fulfilled and fulfilling life.

The most important thing to remember is that each of these characteristics are the sum of many individual decisions. They embody a positive attitude backed by purpose. The only way to achieve your purpose is to take small actions everyday. In the end, they all add up. My hope for you is that you will cultivate this attitude backed by purpose in your own life.

Scholarship is much more than just getting straight A’s. It is a life-long love of learning. In the end it is a sum of small choices. Each time you decide you WANT to learn something, the experience will be so rewarding that the next time becomes easier.

Soon learning becomes a habit. At that point, your desire to learn makes getting A’s easier while taking the focus off of grades. The knowledge can still be hard to gain, but knowing you’ve mastered a difficult subject is an awesome reward. Suddenly the world around you becomes richer, full of learning opportunities.

Leadership is not about being elected or appointed to an office. The office does not teach someone how to be a leader. Leadership is an attitude cultivated over time.

Are you one to stand up for what you believe in and ‘face the music’ even when that music happens to be unpleasant? Do you have a purpose and follow that purpose to get the ends you desire? Do you have a vision? These are all questions that true leaders answer in the affirmative.
But how do you become a leader?

Each small decision you make takes you one step closer. Remember the goal is not to get power, but to get your vision and your purpose across. Leaders without visions can be likened to driving in a strange town without a road map: you are going to wind up somewhere, it just might not be in the best part of town.

Many see community service as a means to an end. Some might see it as a way to get service points while socializing, while others may view it as an unfortunate (and often inconvenient) necessity of high school life. But is that true community service?

Once again true community service is an attitude. Are you doing it for the right reasons? I’m not saying there won’t be Saturday mornings when you would rather sleep your heart out than paint your heart out.

What I’m talking about is that in the end, when it is all done, and you are once again well-rested, you can look back and realize that you did something worthwhile. That you helped your fellow man in some way. Remember as John Donne said, “No man is an island entire of himself.”

Finally, character.

If there is any one thing that is evidenced by your daily choices it is your character.

I truly believe what Thomas Macaulay said, “The measure of a man’s real character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.”

What do you do when no one’s around? The teacher steps out of the room for a moment while you are taking a test after school. You know exactly where in your notes the answer to question 23 is. Do you look? Minimal chance of being caught!

The answer to this question is the key to your true character.

For while being honest and honorable when others are watching is important, being true to yourself is tantamount.

And in the end, these private day-to-day decisions will eventually reveal your true character to the world.

All in all, are making the tough choices worth it?

Yes.

While it would be easier to slide through life without a purpose, without a code, it would not be fulfilling. Only by setting difficult goals and achieving them can we find true self-worth.

One final thing, each person’s goals are different, and what comes easy to one may be difficult for another. Therefore, do not squash others’ dreams. This is a surefire way to know that you aren’t working towards fulfilling your own.

In conclusion, I congratulate you for this honor. You are truly the best of the best. Enjoy yourself, and remember as Mother Teresa said, “Life is a promise; fulfill it.”

Happy Graduation to all the Graduates of Batch 2009!
